How It Works
The Kroger Company is working with 1SYNC™, our certified data pool of choice to realize the various benefits data synchronization will bring to our organization and our supplier community. These benefits include cost reductions within the supply chain, elimination of data errors, and an increase in speed-to-shelf for new items and can only be achieved by exchanging accurate, GS1 Standards-compliant product data with our suppliers.

We will accomplish this through three steps:

  1. Advance the use of the Global Trade Item Number®(GTIN®) with our business partners
  2. Initiate a data quality assessment program with GS1 US / 1SYNC
  3. Implement Global Data Synchronization Network®(GDSN®)


Authorized Barcodes
Ensure you use authorized and unique GS1 US Company Prefixes to build your U.P.C barcode and Global Trade Item Numbers® (GTINs®). In the United States, GS1 US is the sole source of globally-unique GS1 Company Prefixes. Proper usage and formation of barcodes, and accurate product information ensure Data Quality, which is a pre-requisite in successfully improving supply chain efficiencies. Apply for a U.P.C. Company Prefix.
