Data synchronization is the electronic transfer of standardized product and location information between trading partners and the continuous synchronization of that data over time. It allows you to improve collaboration in the global value chain by sharing information between trading partners. Data synchronization eliminates manual processes, providing the tools you need to share item and price information automatically.
The Global Data Synchronization Network® (GDSN®) connects retailers and suppliers, via their selected Data Pools, to the GS1 Global Registry™. 1SYNC™ is a GS1 GDSN certified Data Pool. Learn more about the GDSN on the GS1 website.

Considerations for data synchronization:
Data synchronization is not of much value if the data being synchronized is not good. Good data is the output of a data quality program which requires an assessment procedure to validate the existence and effectiveness of key data management business processes, and an inspection procedure to physically validate product attributes.
Items being synchronized need to be classified in a standard format. The Global Product Classification (GPC) is a classification system that gives buyers and sellers a common language for grouping and categorizing products in the same way, everywhere in the world.
