Quick and efficient electronic communications will eventually replace manual paper processes – including new item introduction – at many Hardlines retailers. In an effort to streamline item setup and maintenance, retailers such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Wal-Mart are planning to automate these processes via the GDSN. Read the letter issued by these Hardlines retailers in October 2008.
