The Package Measurement Rules (part of the GS1 General Specifications) were developed to help increase dimensional data accuracy – or accurate package measurements. Data accuracy is essential for data synchronization and the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN), which enables companies to exchange up-to-date, standardized data, allowing all partners to have consistent item information in their systems at the same time. To help lower costs and improve efficiencies throughout the supply chain, Dimensioning Services offers several programs to help ensure that package measurements in the GDSN are continuously accurate as well as standards compliant.
