GS1 Healthcare US Workgroups
Become part of one of our targeted workgroups, made up of industry stakeholders working to develop a common approach to GS1 Standards adoption through implementation guidelines, business cases, best practices, and education. Choose the workgroups that are most important to your organization:
- Product Identification: Help develop implementation tools for use and correct application of the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) in the U.S. healthcare system to ensure clarity of product information throughout the supply chain from manufacturer to point-of-care.
- Location Identification (GLN): Help develop implementation tools for use and correct application of the Global Location Number (GLN) in the U.S. healthcare system for customer identification to ensure that the right product arrives at the right place at the right time.
- Traceability Adoption: Help establish GS1 Standards for traceability. Initial subgroups are concentrating on the use of the Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS) and pedigree messaging standards to meet U.S. federal and state pedigree regulations.
- Hospital Implementation Workgroup: Help develop implementation and support tools for adopting GS1 Standards in hospitals to achieve patient safety and supply chain efficiency. The group produces support materials to guide hospitals and their solution providers in adoption of GS1 Standards. In addition, they work with end users to generate business case studies and success stories to further enable adoption and implementation.
