Enabling product data capture and synchronization among business partners

GS1 US helps businesses that manufacture, sell, and distribute consumer electronics products such as desktop computers, laptops, small and large appliances, mobile and home or office phones and accessories, and GPS units. GS1 US brings the Consumer Electronics community together to assess and address inefficient business processes in order to stabilize operations and increase revenue in the supply chain.

GS1 US works closely with industry and industry organizations to identify and resolve industry issues and share best practices. Companies doing business with major retailers are encouraged to join GS1 US through its Partner Connections program to obtain a unique company prefix. This prefix identifies a company and its products in the supply chain, enabling important data to be captured and shared with trading partners. The result: fewer out-of-stocks, more satisfied retailers, and happier customers. The identification numbers also make product traceability more accurate and efficient in the case of a product recall.

Expertise in data synchronization and product data management
A company’s product information database is like a catalogue that customers can use to place orders and manage vendors. But when one company needs to change information in their database or add a new item or location to it, suddenly their "catalogue" isn't up to date anymore, causing issues throughout the supply chain.

GS1 is an expert in data synchronization and provides companies with data synchronization solutions through our subsidiary, 1SYNC®, the industry leader in data synchronization and product data management. A GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)-certified Data Pool that connects suppliers and retailers, operators, providers, distributors, and other recipients to the GS1 Global Registry, 1SYNC has been synchronizing consumer electronics product data and improving the industry’s supply chain management for many years.
