Sunrise 101: What You Need to Know to Meet the 2010 GLN and 2012 GTIN Industry Sunrise Dates

The U.S. healthcare industry is rapidly adopting standardized location and product numbers. Industry “sunrise” dates have been set for December 2010 to implement GS1 Global Location Numbers (GLNs) and December 2012 to implement GS1 Global Trade Item Numbers® (GTINs®). GDSN 101 for Healthcare

The GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network® (GDSN®) serves as an authoritative source of standardized healthcare product information and provides an efficient way of sharing this information to ensure that all supply chain partners are using identical, up-to-date, reliable product data. Using the GDSN with the GS1 Standards for location identification (GLN) and product identification (GTIN) enables more efficient business practices which translate to significant benefits for patient safety and help to drive down supply chain costs. As organizations and companies throughout the US healthcare supply chain progress toward the 2012 GTIN Sunrise date, the GDSN is expected to play an important role in facilitating the use of standardized product identification by the industry. 2015 Readiness Workshop Preview
Two sessions available: September 1st and September 16th

Join us to learn more about the 2015 Readiness Workshops and get a preview of the live workshops being held this Fall. The 2015 Readiness Workshops will provide the opportunity to experience a post 2015 U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain world -- the beginning of serialization and Pedigree. The workshop is designed to help you understand both the business and technical aspects of tracking and tracing serialized product through the supply chain and how to leverage this data to increase visibility into your processes. Attendees will be introduced to the GS1 Healthcare US Pharmaceutical Industry Reference Model which simulates forward and reverse logistic processes from the perspective of 11 trading partner types. The reference model will help you to:

  • practice mining post 2015 data
  • understand the decisions you need to make to prepare for product serialization and managing pedigree data
  • test your data sharing and exception management policies
  • prepare to integrate visibility information into your company’s day to day processes

2008 Data Synchronization for Healthcare Spring Webinar Series

The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM), the Coalition for Healthcare eStandards (CHeS) and the Healthcare Supply Chain Standards Coalition (HSCSC) co-sponsored five-part webinar series on product data and synchronization in healthcare.
