2018 Post Conference Workshops

Workshop: Fundamentals of GS1-128 Highlighting the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) and FDA Unique Device Identification (UDI)

Friday, June 8th, 8:30 – 10:00 am

GS1-128 barcodes can be used to not only encode and capture  GS1 Identification numbers such as the GTIN, but also the dynamic product data related to that GTIN, such as batch/lot number, best before date, or other data elements. GS1-128 barcodes can be used to encode product data for cartons, cases, and pallets and is also an FDA compliant barcode for UDI (Unique Device Identification)

The GS1-128 barcode can also be used together with the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) to identify logistic units. The key to successfully implementing GS1-128 barcodes is understanding the use of Application Identifiers (AIs) for encoding your barcodes. They can help enable supply chain visibility and enhance traceability for your products.

Join us for this workshop to learn:

  • The basics and usage of a GS1-128 barcode
  • How to create a Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) for logistic units
  • Fundamentals of Application Identifiers (AIs)
  • Common AIs and how to properly assign and format them

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
