Users Can Access a Brand-Authorized Database of More Than 13 Million Products

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – March 23, 2017 – To help the retail industry source complete and accurate product data that meets the information demands of consumers, GS1 US now offers access to information for over 13 million products sourced directly from brand owners, with GS1 US Data Hub® | Product View/Use. The subscription-based tool helps retailers, brands, solution providers, data pools and app developers locate accurate product details to improve the quality of data made available to consumers when they search for product descriptions online, leading to more seamless consumer experiences.

GS1 US Data Hub is a suite of online tools for GS1 Standards-based product and location data, information about GS1 Company Prefix licensees, barcode creation, and sharing data with trading partners. Users can add a subscription to GS1 US Data Hub | Product View/Use to help increase confidence in their data and eliminate error-prone manual searches for product information.

The tool provides access to essential product data like company name, brand name, product description, industry, packaging level and hierarchy, and also includes the Global Trade Item Number® (GTIN®) and Universal Product Code (U.P.C.) which connect the physical product to digital listings about that product. Additional product data provided by the brand owner may include dimensions, weight, country of origin, and a photo of the product. In-tool messaging allows users to contact brand owners directly for questions about their products. Users can perform single queries, download data in bulk, or use the API for easy integration with their own systems.
