GS1 US maintains not-for-profit status to remain a neutral organization. This is important when gathering together a diverse array of supply chain partners participating in our initiatives or workgroups. Without the constraints of conflicting interests or anti-trust concerns, we can bring communities of stakeholders together to identify solutions to common industry business problems openly.
This has no impact on our compensation or benefits. We regularly work with influential business leaders across the industries we serve, so we need to have highly competent employees who can participate at that world-class level. Finding and retaining the best employees is a critical organizational focus, and our competitive compensation and benefits packages reflect its importance.
Like any for-profit company, we set annual goals and objectives. This is done in collaboration with our Board of Governors to ensure our objectives support the progress in the industries we serve. Helping our members increase revenue and reduce costs is always a priority.
