GS1 Standards help solve for regulatory requirements and product safety

Companies today face stringent expectations around patient, product, and food safety. They are expected to satisfy increasing industry requirements and consumer demand for more—and better—product information. The most pressing drivers stem from regulatory agencies, including:

  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Unique Device Identification (UDI) Rule, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), prescription drug Standardized Numerical Identification (SNI), and Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)
  • U.S. Customs Service Traceability Pilot
  • Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act
